Maharaja Suheldev A Legendary King

Maharaja Suheldev was a great king of Shravasti, popularly known for defeating and killing the Ghaznavid general Ghazi Miyan at Bahraich in 1034.

He is mentioned in Mirat-i-Masudi, a 17th-century Persian-language historical romance.

On 16 February 2021, The foundation stone of Maharaja Suheldev Smarak in Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh was laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi via video conferencing for the project, which will include the installation of an equestrian statue of Maharaja Suheldev. The Uttar Pradesh government, headed by Yogi Adityanath, celebrated the day as Suheldev’s birth anniversary and released an official note, which said, Raja Suheldev fought, defeated and killed the Ghaznavid commander Ghazi Sayyid Salar Masood on the banks of Chittaura Lake in Bahraich in a famous battle in 1034.

Mari Mata Mandir

Mari mata’s temple situated on the banks of Saryu river near the Bahraich-Lucknow Highway at the northern end of Bahraich city in UP is a center of faith for the devotees. In the Navaratri, devotees of rural and urban areas are engaged in worship for worship and prayer in the temple. Besides, on Mondays and Fridays, the crowd rises for worship in the temple. Katarnia Ghat Wild Life

Katarniaghat Wildlife Sanctuary is a part of the Dudhwa Tiger Reserve. It is managed along with the Dudhwa National Park and Kishanpur Wildlife Sanctuary. The Katarniaghat Forests provide strategic connectivity between tiger habitats of Dudhwa and Kishanpur in India and the Bardia National Park in Nepal.
